Default Season 2 SYTYCD Canada

As public excitement dies down from Season 1, discussions, decisions and plans are being made for Season 2. It is easy to complain after the fact, but for those who still check in to this forum, it is a good time to make suggestions as to what you believe would enhance the show. What would you like to see in SYTYCD Canada Season 2?......judges, choreographers, host, script, filming, auditions etc.

Do you have a wish list?

Better choreographers for sure, and slowmo recaps when the judges are talking!! Leah i could stand for another year, like shes not the worst part of the show. Luther should also no longer be a judge...he's pretty useless

My wish list for the performances I would like to see on Season 2 is:

Lyrical Hip Hop - Tabitha and Napolean Dumo
Contemporary - Mia Michaels
Broadway - Tyce Diorio
Contemporary/Jazz - Wade Robson
Hip Hop - Shane Sparks
Jazz - Sonya Tayeh
Argentine Tango - Alex Da Silva
West Coast Swing - Benji Schwimmer

Don't worry....I didn't forget the Canadians

Viennese Waltz - Jean Marc Genereau
Lyrical Jazz/contemporary - Blake McGrath
Afro Jazz - Sean Cheesman
Jazz - Melissa Williams
Samba - Eric Caty
Contemporary - Stacey Tookey

I would really love to see Lyrical Jazz and Lyrical Hip Hop as part of SYTYCD Canada.....it would also be great to have some innovative Broadway numbers....

Why not consider adding Flamenco?

I would love to see more of Stacey Tookey! I thought that the three routines that she choreographed were just amazing. We need more Stacey!!!

I would love to see Luther and Tre go, as I think that they are absolutely useless as judges and choreographers. And absolutely NO PAUL BECKER!!!

I want to see more guest choreographers from the U.S. show, such as Mia and Tabitha and Napolean.

I want us to get some judges who aren't so biased and who will give constructive criticism to ALL the competitors, instead of just a select few. I also would like to see the male judges stop hitting on the pretty female dancers. It isn't necessary.

I would like to see instant recaps when the judges are talking, and just overall better work with the filming. Some of it was pretty lousy this year..... the cameras were spinning around from place to place so much that it was hard to focus on the dance.

Apart from that..... oh yeah! How could I forget?!?! NO MORE LEAH! MILLER MUST GO!!! NO MORE LEAH!!! NO MORE LEAH!!! NO MORE- whoops. Sorry. I forgot myself for a minute there.

I think that's everything. Should be. If it isn't I'll always post more later.

I couldn't agree more.

The instant recaps add so much to reality talent shows, by letting the audience revisit sections of the dance. Sometimes it shows something we might have missed, points out something great or not so great and certainly adds interest to the judging section of the show. It also gives the judges more credibility and keeps them on their toes. I really hope that CTV will add the instant recaps to Season 2.

Also, I agree that the camera work has to be about "dance."...and the camera crew has to ensure that the viewers are able to see the whole dance as it was designed by the choreographer, because that's why they're watching

One other area of the production that I felt needed improvement was the script....especially on results night. What do you think?

The script definitely needs improvement. Of course if I was the host I wouldn't need a script- I would wing it! I'm naturally extremely funny, as I'm sure you've all noticed by now..... ISN"T THAT RIGHT GUYS?!?!?!?!? I would be a much better host than Leah..... *mutters darkly to self*.....

No doubt!

I really hope that for season 2, the writers for the show become more creative/clever and stop over doing the same silly, predictable games....I think that Leah actually appeared worse than she was because of the material she was given.....no one could have pulled that off.......oops, I mean except for nevermindwhatmyname is!

Did you enjoy the judges and their critiques?.....How did it compare to the US version?

Seriusly I agree with you and the judges part need a big improvement. I was rewatching some US version and they are more "tuff" on the dancers and I think that make the "wow you are good" even more real.

We do also have some very good choreographers here in Canada that might not have movies on their CV put could "match" some of the US choreographers. CTV have to give them a chance to show Canada what they are capable of.

I totally agree with you and this is probably my biggest concern with our show. It bothers me that the creators of "stage" dance have been overlooked and the "commercial" ,"movie" and "video" choreographers were selected.....choreographing for stage is completely different from choreographing for a video and I believe that was more than obvious on the show.

Personally, I don't care what anyone has on their resume, but I do care about what they create for the show
