Kalan Concert in PEI on July 3rd, 2005
The Kalan concert was so AWESOME! I had so much fun! When we first got there we headed towards the stage. There wasn’t that many people there so we thought that we would be gettin’ front row. When we picked up our tickets at one of the booth things, the person workin’ there never told us that there was a line up that we had to get in so we didn’t know anything about it. By the time we got out to the line we were so far back that we thought that we would never be able to get anywhere’s close to the stage. Where we got through the gate, we were actually quite close to the stage. Before Kalan’s performance, there was a Cirque Plus show. It was pretty cool! A few people in front of me left because of the heat and the noise, so I keep gettin’ closer and closer to the stage. By the time Kalan came on I had second row. My sister and I made a couple posters for the show. We only held one of them up though. It said “Kalan Is Our Sunshine”. When Kalan saw it he smiled. I think he might have pointed at it too. I can’t remember. Near the end of the show I threw a little blue stuffed bunny up on stage. I thought for sure that it was gonna miss the stage. Kalan came over a few minutes later, picked it up and held it in the air. At the end of the show, Kalan jumped off stage and ran by and touched people’s hands. I couldn’t get my hand out far enough for him to touch it. After the show my Mom, two sisters and I stood by the stage just in case Kalan would come and do meet and greets. The guys puttin’ away the equipment told us that Kalan had already left, but we stood there and waited for a little longer. Some of the guys threw us some stuff. I got a drum stick, 2 guitar picks, a set list with Kalan’s footprint on it, and a water bottle that they said was Kalan’s. I don’t think that it was though. I got to meet Charlie and I got my picture taken with him. He is really nice! Oh ya, when Kalan was singin’ “Let’s Dance” he had a contest to see who can saw “Let’s Dance”. It was between Charlottetown, Halifax, Moncton, and all of the others he didn’t say. He was like this “Charlottetown… Halifax… Mon.…k….ton” I think that he forgot what it was called. It sounded like he was gonna say Montreal. It was so cute! He laughed a little and so did everyone in the audience. It was so AWESOME! So cool!

That's awesome you had such a great time! Kalan is amazing in concert....I've seen him 3 times now and I'm praying he comes back to BC soon. Doesn't look like it'll happen anytime soon though.

I was at the back and couldn't see him very well

I also didn't have my camera b/c I was told we couldn't take them, which was really frustrating. I'm glad you had fun though. The concert was amazing, I cannot wait to see him again and next time I'll have a camera. I was wondering if you'd be able to post the set list for me since you have a copy. I just couldn't remember all the songs he sang.

The only song he didn't sing was "Nature Boy".

Thanks for the pictures and the set list. That was really interesting to see. I wonder what the F*G after Nature Boy means? So did he only sing Born to be Wild for the encore then? That was smart of you to stick around after the show - sounds like you got some really cool stuff.

Glad to see Kalan's board is still here and that lots of people are posting again. Let's keep it going!
