Did you see the way Ashley's body was shaking as if she were sobbing?

My heart went out to her as I imagined the sadness that she had difficulty controlling. I thought she was robbed as well. I am a Rex fan but I still like some of the other singers and she was one of them. I really thought she wasnt going to be able to sing at the end of the show cause I thought she was going to break down crying!! At least she made it through her song.....Anyone else notice her shaking and feel the same way about her?

Yes, I have no idea what it would take to stand there (she was even speechless at one point) and get that bad news and be able to turn it around and still sing. I was so sad for her and proud of her at the same time. CI lost something great tonite

I felt so bad for her because she didn't deserve it at all. The poor thing was so upset she was trying to hold back her tears and sobs. I thought she was hyperventilating for a time and was seriously worried she might pass out. (I really wanted to just hug her myself at that point)...But incredibly she was able to bite her lower lip, pull it together and actually sing the song (Sir Duke, that in the end buried her IMO) with some energy. Very professional because for a time there, I thought she might choke up so bad or break down into sobbing and not be able to sing at the end. I think that would have been a first for CI (yes?) and I'm glad she pulled it together. Kudos to Ben Mulroney though for talking her through it and giving her words of consolation instead of being abrasive or un-feeling. You've got to give him that much, he is good at softening the harsh moments (be they nasty judges' comments or being ejected from the show on results night). I think he had a lot to do with Ashley being able to continue on and sing. Good for him

Yes , my thoughts exactly!! I also thought she was going to pass out or start to sob uncontrollably and that for the first time on Canadian Idol they wouldnt make her sing cause she was so upset. I thought they were going to quietly pass it off so she wouldnt have to sing. I also agree with you that Ben makes a great host because of his ability to console people and say the right things to help smooth over harsh comments by the judges. Thanks for your posting, its interesting to hear when others have the same thoughts about what goes on in the show.

On Canada AM in an interview she said she was hyperventilating...poor girl...but she handled it with class and grace...I was so surprised that she was able to sing after all that!!! After her speach my mom and I were both trying to choke back the tears...we failed...I crying like a baby!

Ashley will be missed but never forgotten!!!
