Exclamation Hear me out all Daryl fans!

We've seen what the Katrina hurrican have done to those in Florida. Countless americans/families/ and friends will take years to be revived. And they Need our help. We can donate and put their lives back on track! So please give, go to http://www.redcross.org/. Don't give until it hurts, give until you shine. Please also pass the words around.

Thanks,
Thanh Nguyen

P.S. - hopefully, I can get some CI fans to try to get CI into the donation of some sort to help the hurrican victims. A way to try is to e-mail them at idol@ctv.ca, and get them to start some kind of program.

This is all for a good cause. I can see how many love others are showing for those victims, and I want to help. We're all basically a big family. And I am happy that my relatives down there is okay, but for those who are unfortunate, I feel bad for them.

Thank you Thanh. I met a friend whose young niece was awaiting a tumour transplant (brain) in NO, and she died because of Katrina. Many of us here in NS have Acadian relatives and connections. My daughter in Maryland is taking a family in. We too are doing things to help in another way, but through the redcross. It never crossed my mind to use the CI board, so kudos to you!!! The ships that left Halifax on Tuesday are getting there, well laden, but hitting the rough seas due to H. Ophelia. Let's all pray Ophelia goes out to sea. The Navy divers out of Stadacona also went early on and have been diving now for a few days.

Casey I believe would be Acadian heritage also. We're probably all distant relatives.

Hugs to you, and to all of you who respond.

I'm not mad. I get what you're saying because of the thousands of innocents dying everyday in Iraq. But I think most of these people suffering in the aftermath of Katrina probably don't agree with the Iraq conflict either. Americans have started opening their eyes and ears to the world and are beginning to realize they were duped at a vulnerable time..after 9/11. However, these are children on rooftops and in shelters, parents missing, no homes, industries gone, so no jobs. We all must remember, when the Halifax explosion occured, the first to help were the people of Massachusetts. That's why they receive the gift of a Christmas tree from Nova Scotia every year. The victims of Katrina are not the people who started the war with Iraq, they aren't the liars, etc. And unfortunately, we can't get into Iraq to help. We can't blame civilians for what the American Government does. Hunger and suffering have no nationality nor colour. We all know that people are suffering all over the world..such as Africa, Indonesia, and the list could go on and on, but these people in Louisiana etc did not cause any of the world's ills. They are victims of a hurricane that literally destroyed their lives. Don't blame them..blame the UN for not sanctioning the US for this illegal war, and by helping the Katrina victims, in the long run, we help everyone.

God Bless.

If your not satisfy with this you can start going around and try to help others. The money that go the Red Cross, goes to the hurricane victims, but with the left over, Red Cross is an international organization that lend a helping hands to those in needs. Not all who are in need get that need right away or not at all, but they try their best to do the best to help these people. They also have to deal with their own lives and others situation. And here we are, sitting here, watching television, enjoying ourselves, these people are suffering. We're living the lives that they were before the hurricane hit. Now as I'm typing this more lives can be save but I can't really do anything to save those lives unless I do something like donate at least a dollar.

There are other ways, I'm a nascar fan and some nascar racers are finding out ways to help donate money to the hurricane victims. As for one is Robby Gordon, if you go on if you go on his site, there will be way you can help. Each lap he makes, he and hes team will donate $7.00 per lap. You can also make something like you would pay 0.10 cent per lap he makes, doesn't matter how much you donate, for a lap he makes, you can even do a penny a lap. And there is Jimmie Johnson who is donated $480 000 after a race. Carl Edwards [Busch] and Kyle Busch [Nextel]donated their winnings to the cause. The brackets tell you which type of NASCAR race they won in. And Jeff Gordon I think he donated $1 000 000 to Red Cross, and many more drivers are doing the same.

Yes, the Red Cross is international, and for the most part, they go wherever they are needed in emergencies..and they are in Iraq. Some people are donating specifically to the victims of Katrina, but all red cross donations go to all emergencies worldwide, and sometimes, even when the governments of those countries don't want them there. If we stop donating, we don't help anyone, anywhere, and tomorrow, it could be us who needs the red cross.
