My K-W Auditions

Well i woke up @ 4:30 a.m., got ready and left by 5:30am. Arrived at the K-W auditions @ 6:30 am. Waited in line, and got my number by 8:30. After i received my number, i walked around the mall until my number was called around 12:15 ish - 12:30 p.m.

My group only had 4 ppl auditioning in the trailer because someone didnt show up (or must have not heard their number being called). So i went in the trailer, I had to sing first. After i was done, everyone in my room said i was very good, and said "man, i cant go now, that was amazing!" etc. I was very happy and nervous at this point. Everyone else sang, and then the female producer asked us all to sing again. I sang a 2nd song, and she said that I had a very distinct voice. It was very different from all the others. Very professional for my age. She said she wanted to keep a close eye on me and see where this takes me in the future.

I headed back into the mall and sat down with my fellow yellow ticket holders. I waited 3 hours (it was horrible lol). We had to sit in this empty store which was extremely hot, for three hours. I was then called back to the registration booth, and continued to wait until a producer was ready to see me.

I was finally called in to do my 2nd audition. This female producer was friendly. I sang the two songs i sang at tier 1 and she asked me to sing another (with out vocal gymnastics, riffs, etc.) just pure and more loud. I tried to fulfill her needs but it wasnt good enough. Throught out my audition with her she seemed distracted (i.e. eating, coughing, looking out the window) I was disapointed with her in that aspect. She said I had the voice and look but i didn't project my song well enough. She also said I could easliy make it to the top 100, but once i got there..I would blend in the crowd and wouldn't stand out. She said that I probably wouldnt be able to project my voice well enough on a stage for me to stand out and really be noticed for my performing skills. She also said to work more on that and to come to the Toronto auditions for a 2nd chance, if I practice this week and all goes well in T.O.

So overall, i had a very good experience (minus the being turned down in tier 2). It was very long, and hot. There was no where to sit (other than the floor). To all people left to audition *have confidence, don't be afraid to move around and use your hands while singing, have good performing skills, project your voice very strong and clear, and look your best! I hope all goes well for the rest of auditioners in K-W and T.O.! Good luck! You might see me in T.O.

-Dan

MY friend went today too

Well, we had a long and drawn out experience today too. Much the same and Dan's. My friend has a phenomenol voice ( quality, loud, strong) and I assumed she would go through. I couldn't believe it when she didn't even make it through the first session.
We also met another girl who sounded awesome and went in at the same time. She didn't get through either!!!!!!!I don't know what they were looking for. We heard some guys pracitsing in the halls and (no offence) but they were seriously terrible and raunchy. They GOT THROUGH!! They must be just looking for freaks or something because I don't understand the criteria today. I was very disappointed.
iT WILL BE INTERESTING TO SEE THE SHOW!!

Thumbs down i agree

Well first off i have the right to post in here as a "previous auditioner" now woot. lol now moving on.

I woke up at 5:30 left at 6:15ish was there about 6:30 waited in line til about 9:15ish got my number then walked around a few hours mostly just sat at the food court trying to practice but that just wasnt happening. But my voice was still rather good considering i'm coming down with something. so i went in to the trailer with 4 other girls i went first (which made it so nerve wrenching) my legs were shaking i could barely stand i was so nervous, but i went up and did my thing. i was very concentrated on not forgetting words and trying not to look as nervous as i was that i probably didnt have all my effort into my voice but still non the less i think i did ok, just a bit pitchier then i shoulda been, but that as said previously isnt enough. so they asked 2 girls to step forward and the rest of us to leave. so yeah i didnt make it . and i must admit that the experience was nothing of what i thought itd be...like on tv its SO different mind you i know on tv its actually the celeb auditions your seeing but they do show the registration line ups too...and yeah it was just SO not what id expected...but it was an experience none the less, i'll be auditioning next yr good news is a friend of mine got it and he totally deserved it, i knew hed get it. but there was still SO many thigns that didnt add up, like some ppl did NOT deserve it, and others did but anyway enough rambling.

I also thought that the judges were REALLY nice..I felt so komfortable...i had no problem laughing and joking around with them..i felt more komfortable talking to soem of the judges than I do with some fo my friends! adn they agve good tips for next year..which is encouraging!

Thumbs down

so I started out similar... got up at 5:30am and got to the auditions around 8am. Waited around in line for about 45min and got registered. Seemed like forever before they called my number and herd some very annoying people trying to sing along with others not extremely worried but their parents were. So I guess after sitting on every bench in the mall, my number was called and it was time to show them what I was made of. Well there was five in my group; 4 girls and 1 guy. I sang second. Thought I wasn't that bad but I guess I didn't "wow" them either because I didn't make it through. I did notice though as did most of the others that the guy who was one of the judges in the audition was constantly looking out the window or eatting and not even paying the bit of attention to me. The girl was very polite and looked at me the entire time. Yet the guy made the final call. I guess it's just the experience I have to walk away with. Best of luck to those who compete tomorrow in KW and T.O. next week!

I can't wait to go now and meet them haha. I've heard so many stories...this is great.

I've been worried that it would be a lot of younger people and I would be too old (as i'm 27) but I guess that doesn't mean anything.

So the guy doesn't look at you eh...well...then you just have to sing TO him.....and make him drawn to look lol....

to smelly cat...what is your real name? Maybe i was sitting near you in the waiting room!

*The best thing to have is stage presence. Don't be afraid to move, or sing loud. Having a good image is important too!

Well i have the internet! Otherwise, i wouldnt be replying online lol. So i guess it wasn't me. I was wearing a blue dress shirt with a white over shirt (with zipper at the neck). The producer said I was a Daryl Brunt look-a-like, but better looking! I had no idea of what to think when she said that..oh man.

So i don't think it was me!
