My View

The debut of Candian Idol 4 has left me debating if I should even continue to watch. One whole hour of uninspirational television is all I was treated with the premier.
I don't proclaim to be the ear of music, some of my favorite singers are likely some that you would never consider even downloading (which unless you pay for it, is illegal by the way :C) ). I do however proclaim to have MY own opinion on the singers, which I hope you all agree, I am entitled to.

Firstly, I'd like to comment on punk rocker from Yellowknife. I was hopeful that we would be blessed with another entertainer along the lines of Jacob Hoggard, as I watched this guy's(sorry, I didn't write down names) montage I was really pleased with what I heard as they showed him playing with his band. Then he sang in front of the judges. I know he was trying really hard not to just let it rip and sing the way he is most comfortable, which he may have but they didn't show. I'm really worried he won't hold up with the piano if he makes it as far as the first phone votes.

Secondly, I'm sitting here with a couple of friends from my class and we all agree that possibly the best singer they showed DID NOT make it to Toronto. You'll likely remember her as the girl in the red leather suit with multiple hats. This girl had personality and an amazing voice. Maybe not the best wardrobe choice but since when is has that stopped the esteamed judges from sending someone through to the next round. Of all the people shown on TV, this girl was the only one I REALLY liked and they said no to her...which brings me to my final comment.

How does are judging system work? Four judges. I've noticed that occasionally a two-two tie sends someone to the next round, and others it doesn't. I'm confused.

Ok, well, that's my thoughts. I had planned on commenting more, but I'm not going to, I'll just finish the way I started...so far I am not amused.

I as well was dissapointed last night..i agree wholeheartedly with you...I am hopping for a stand out candidate like Taylor on AI...his style of singing was very refreshing..thouhg not the best singer in th4e group..he brings something to the industry that is lacking..
